Comments: Place a tablespoon or so of wood chips in the bottom of the pan, insert the full-size drip pan and the non-stick grilling rack, place the food on top of the rack, slide on the lid, and cook over medium heat until the food it done. It steams and lightly smokes the food. It doesn't let much smoke out into the kitchen, and it provides a light to medium level of smoking that may be unavailable to apartment dwellers and others who don't own a grill or smoker.

The smoker can also be used on a grill or over a campfire. Larger items, including a ham or turkey, can be prepared in the pan with a foil tent in place of the slide-on lid.

All smoking aside, we were very impressed with the quality of the pan itself – it serves brilliantly as a lasagna pan or baking pan when you're not smoking, and can also be used as a steamer or poacher. We are slightly more impressed with it as a pan than as a smoker.

The handles can be folded against the sides to save space. The smoker comes with a modest cookbook and four varieties of wood chips to get you started. The manufacturer hopes you will purchase replacement chips in a dozen varieties until the end of time.
